From the moment you enter its doors, people feel the calm, serenity offered not only in the chapel, but in the faces and personalities of the people who work here and volunteers.
Fr. Justin Langille recently accepted the post as chaplain and said he looks forward to ministering to the spiritual needs of the community, both staff and residents. It is a responsibility he accepts with joy and compassion, he said.
In addition to daily Mass, Fr. Justin comforts the ill and spends as much time listening as talking.
He meets with family members of residents in times of crisis, offering prayers and blessings.
Daily rosary services are held both in the chapel and in the Care Center. A popular offering here is the healing service, a hands-on prayerful ceremony provided by visiting priests.
The chapel never closes its doors and offers a place of solace for thankful prayer as well as prayers of petition.
The chapel walls frame a series of colorful stain-glass windows featuring the Holy Family as well as saints from all over the world.
Sr. Margaret Theresa Spence, House Superior, has an infectious laugh that echoes in the hallways.
She said she is honored to help take care of the senior residents though the loving example of Jesus and the Holy Family.
