Respite care, for a few days or a longer period depending on needs, is aimed at keeping the client as well and as independent as they are, with a view to them returning home at the end of their respite period.

A current Older Persons Health (OPH) Needs Assessment placement confirmation will need to be provided to the Administration Office so eligibility for respite can be confirmed.

Once eligibility has been established, dates for arrival and departure will need to be discussed and confirmed with the resident and/or their representative.

The resident/representative will be provided with an information sheet (link below) including a list of items to bring with them for their respite stay.
