Ballymote Community Nursing Unit provides Convalescence Care to assist individuals with their recovery following hospital discharge.
Respite is a service that provides a break for carers. It is normally planned in advance of admission, however it may be arranged at short notice in an emergency and if a respite bed is available.
Ballymote Community Nursing Unit has evolved from the work and commitment of the Sisters of St John of God, who first began to provide services for the elderly at Ballymote in the 1970’s.

Ballymote Community Nursing Unit has a friendly dedicated team of motivated, trained and vetted, nursing staff, care assistants, pastoral carers, catering, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance and administrative staff.

Ballymote Community Nursing Unit can home 24 residents, both male and female. Within the unit, 5 of our beds are dedicated to respite care.
There are various events held over each month enjoyed by all the residents and extra special events during Easter and Christmas. We also have visiting guests to entertain our residents along with some very tasty buffets.
