Nazareth House Hammersmith is the original Nazareth House, built by the Congregation’s foundress, Victoire Larmenier. The house has served us well but is in need of a major refurbishment to bring it up to modern standards and to continue to serve the people of Hammersmith.
To do this, we have embarked on completely refurbishing the 160 year old house to meet modern care needs and to provide an outstanding home for residents to live in and staff to work in.
This is a significant project, with stairs and lifts relocated, internal walls repositioned and new services throughout to make the house much more hospitable and enjoyable for residents. When complete, all bedrooms will have ensuite wet rooms, and most rooms will be larger with wider corridors. Many facilities will be relocated to make them easier to access.
The first phase of the main building is complete and creates 14 resident bedrooms, quiet lounges, assisted bathrooms, a relocated commercial kitchen, and staff facilities.
Next are two new lifts and a new staircase, 18 bedrooms, three new lounges, a new reception, café, shop, activities, hairdressing, physiotherapy, and a refurbished main hall.
Disruption is being kept to a minimum while work takes place, and regular updates will be provided for residents, relatives, staff, and all those affected by the changes.
Please see the video below, which was recorded with Gloria and Maria, two residents at Nazareth House Hammersmith, who are discussing the project.
Donations can be made here if you would like to support the project.
