Clare Ponsford – General Manager

Clare qualified as a Registered Nurse in February 2002 and spent the first 9 years of her professional career working for the NHS in Neuro-Rehabilitation.  Clare joined Nazareth Care in November 2011 as a Registered Nurse for Nazareth House, Plymouth, becoming Deputy Manager in February 2018 and was promoted and appointed General Manager in February 2021.

Clare has a Degree in Batchelor of Science in Health Studies (2nd Class Honours)


Karen Potter – Deputy Manager


Kirstine Thomas – Senior Receptionist

Kirstine deals with all the financial and clerical administration for the Home.


Melanie Kershaw – Activities Coordinator

Melanie’s aim is to encourage and raise the social interaction between our residents and assist them to retain interests and hobbies which in turn will enable them to contribute to an environment in which everyone can feel, are part of a large family, including staff.  Melanie also organises external events as well as entertainers who come into the Home to perform for our residents.


Holly Farrer – Catering Manager & Team

Holly is assisted by cooks Craig and Angie and together the Team provide a healthy nutritional and varied Menu which is rotated seasonally.


Miles Hopper – Maintenance Manager

Miles oversees all the general maintenance of the Home, making certain that the safety equipment is tested regularly meeting with the required guidelines and Health and Safety Regulations.


Sharon Hooper – Housekeeper

Sharon manages a Team of cleaning staff who together help to clean all areas of the Home regularly and to a high standard.  The Team is also responsible for the Home’s laundry and that it is washed in a timely manner.
