My name is Sister Rumbidzai Mutero, and I come from a family of six with a strong Catholic faith. Growing up, I was inspired by the Sisters who worked with the youth at our Parish, and I often told my parents I wanted to become a Sister. Though they supported me, they didn’t fully understand my calling.
In my twenties, I began to share my desire for religious life with a Carmelite Sister. I attended “Come and See” programs with different Congregations but still felt uncertain. After much prayer and reflection, I gathered the courage to share my calling with my parents. After some discussion, they gave me their blessing.
I continued discerning and, in 2016, a friend introduced me to the Sisters of Nazareth. After contacting Sister Dadirai and meeting Sister Irene, I attended their “Come and See” program and felt drawn to their charism. I returned for a three-month program and, in February 2017, began my formation with the Sisters of Nazareth.
I made my First Profession of vows on September 24, 2020, in Hammersmith. I am currently working with the elderly, fulfilling my vocation as a Sister of Nazareth and striving to serve God faithfully.
